How to prepare for MAT exam I'm writing it in the month of May
well i will tell you some of the preparation tips and suggestions on how to prepare MAT exam.
- The management Aptitude Test (MAT) is held in two modes a) paper based test. b) conputer based test
- MAT being a knowledge based test includes a type of multiple choice pattern i.e. objective type will examine your general aptitude across different type of parameters like
- 1) language comprehension
- 2)mathematical skills
- 3) data analysis and data sufficiency
- 4)critical reasoning
- 5)indian and global environment.
To get a good result, it is better advisable to start your preparation as early as possible.

- By reading news papers daily, you can improve your vocabulary and you will have a grip and command over the body language.
- "The best method is to be systematic in preparation and studies , it will help you make fruitful use of time.

clear your basic math's Concepts:
- The best way shall be to start practicing from the text book of class 10th and learn as many as formulas and maintain a terminology.

work on your vocabulary:
- i already suggest you, the better way to improve your vocabulary is referring news papers daily and it will surely help you to build and strengthen your vocabulary.
- Reading a lot and observing how words are used in the context's will be of great help.

Reasoning skills:
- solving and approaching a problem is the basic important one during preparation since it is the key role which plays in answering .
- solving a set of questions with in a time frame with concentration should be miraculous.
- Devoting equal time on each questions will be of great help as well.

mock tests:
- 1) This is one of the fastest way of preparation and since by taking mocktests you will get to know how the questions are asking and what is the basis you can get to know.
- 2) it also helps in faster preparation because every time you are taking mock exam in each section there will be different concepts and topics, so that you will have an grip and idea related to particular concept.

know your strength and weakness:
- once you know your strengths and weaknesses after taking mock tests, it is advisable to speed up your preparation in such a way that you will be mastering in any concept.

- regarding aptitude and critical reasoning , it is advisable to refer " RS AGARWAL" and it is one of the most preferred by the aspirants and the concepts are in an elaborate description with detailed key concepts.
- regarding reading comprehension and verbal ability, " Nishith sinha" is the best book, because the book is in such a way that each concept is explained and an added advantage is the ordinary student can able to understand the high logics.

- This is the simple way to enhance and build your concepts because after referring to previous year papers you will get to know, how the standards and on what basis the questions are asking in the exam, and you can prepare accordingly to that so that preparation becomes little bit faster.

revise:
- once after, you are done with all above, the last but not least is revision, this is the mantra that maximum students miss out and suffers .
- until and unless you revise, there will not be any use of studying months together ,so i suggest you revise and it will adds ups an advantage of mesmorizing the topics.

in the exam point of view of tackling each section:
- keep in mind that scoring very high in one section and very low in other will affect your total percentile.
- so to have a balance is very essential.
quantitative ability :
- The quantitative ability of MAT checks your basic knowledge of maths so you need to stick to basics.
- especially this section requires only understanding and logical thinking, no external hard preparation is required.
- if you carefully interpret the table, or graph in this section, sure maximum marks can be cracked easily in this section and ofcourse this is scoring section too.
- practicing previous papers is the only option and best way to get an idea about this section.
- Follow old GRE books, so it will be a good idea for getting reference from them.
- it is pure comprehension .
- reading and understanding the paragraph and answering .
- so it is the easiest section and one can score good and top marks in this section.

MAT
exam is conducted 4 times a year by All India Management Association. This test is given by the MBA aspirants. The eam an be given in both online as well as offline mode.
For preparation of MAT first of all you need to know the exam pattern and syllabus.
Exam Pattern

The paper consits a total of 200 MCQ questions and the candidate has 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the paper.
The paper has 5 sections with 40 questions from each section namely :
Language Comprehension , Data Analysis and sufficiency , Intelligence and Critical reasoning , Mathematical Skills and Indian and global Environment.
Syllabus

Data Analysis and sufficiency
: For this section you must study the following topics
Bar graphs , Column graphs , pie charts , Line charts , Graphs , Puzzles , Tables and Venn Diagram.
Matematical Skills :
This section would include the following topics
Algebra , Linear and quadratic equations , Geometry , Averages , HCF & LCM , Percentages , profit and loss , time-speed- distance , arthimetic progression , ratios and proportions , vectors , functions , work and time.
Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
: This will include the following
Cause-Effect , Reason-Assertion , Assumption-Premise-Conclusion , Coding-Decoding , Invalid interference , Family Tree , Critical reasoning , Sequencing , Visual Reasoning , Linear and Matrix arrangements.
Language Comprehension
: This section include the following topics
Antonyms , Synonyms , Analogies , Contectual Usage , Idioms , Jumbled Paragraphs , One word substitution , Sentence corrections and completion , syllogisms , odd one out , Vocabulary , reading comprehension and Verbal reasoning.
Indian and Global Environment
: This will include the following
Books and Authors , Business , National & International Awards , Company PUnch Lines , Entertainment , Geography , Current Affairs , History , Major events , Quotations , Science & Technology , Top official of companies and Sports
Now that you know all the syllabus, next is how to prepare. First of all make sure you do not collect a lot of study material. Stick to only a few good books so that you do not get confused.
Next would be practice. Keep on solving questions of all the sections so that you improve your performance.
Do not stress out and study with a calm mind.
Make a proper schedule and do not study continuously. Take breaks in between.
Keep solving previous year papers and sample papers to get familiar with the exam pattern.
Stay confident and stay focused.
Practice time management. Know well how much time does each section require and try to give the least time possible to each questions. DO not get stuck at any question and waste time.
Remember only key to success is PRACTICE.
