See the problem with GK or General Studies for any competitive examination is that there are no boundaries about. The question are randomly asked usually. Now I would say you should carry on with the Lucent General Knowledge book. This book have really good grasp on the subject and can really for most of the MCQ based competitive examination. Also you can use the book by Manohar Pandey as side lead. Now once you retain most of the facts from this books, start solving mock papers and from that you will get the missing links about the subjects. Also you will be able to find out which portions are more probable to the questions. Keep a notebook and keep on noting the new GK question you face in mock papers. This way you can really improve your GK and the capability of retaining information.

I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
