Hi sushant,

To score more it's necessary to know the AIIMS Exam Pattern

The AIIMS Entrance Test is a computer-based exam, which has 200 multiple-choice objective type questions from Physics (60 questions), Chemistry (60 questions), Biology (60 questions) and General Knowledge (20 questions). Every correct answer gives you one mark, and for every incorrect answer, 1/3 mark is deducted. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Here are some tips for AIIMS entrance exam, that will hopefully help you get through with flying colors.

1)Most of the questions asked in the AIIMS exam are from the NCERT 11th& 12thstandard Physics, Chemistry & Biology books. So, if your fundamentals from school are right, then half the battle is won.

Subject-Wise Plan

You must plan your strategy carefully for different subjects viz. Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Here are a few pointers on how to prepare separately for them:

Physics: This subject tests your analytical skills. The physics questions in the AIIMS exam are advanced, but if your concepts are clear, then you have no reason to worry. Practice as many Assertion & Reasons questions as you can.

Chemistry: In the past, most of the questions have been NCERT-based. Hence, refer to NCERT books for practice.

Biology: Follow NCERT & the Truemans series of books.

General Knowledge: Don't devote too much time to GK as it carries only 20 marks. Hence, its wiser to focus more on Physics, Chemistry & Biology and give half an hour daily to a newspaper or current affairs magazine to stay in the loop on all the latest happenings.

Be Meticulous

Once you've gone through the study material and are confident about the fundamental concepts, begin the actual preparation. Solve objective type questions from some good books, which have the correct answers printed on the back. Compare your answers with the given solutions. This practice will give you a reality check about your preparations.

Sample Papers

You mustsolve a lot of sample papersandprevious years question papersas you will have to answer 200 questions in 210 minutes, which is as good as one minute per question.

Hello Sushant Hazare

Study plan for AIIMS 2018:-

  • There are 20 questions based on general knowledge in AIIMS exam. For solving these, you can read newspapers and watch news everyday for an hour to have the best idea of the latest events happening in order to get along with the General Knowledge part in the AIIMS 2018 exam. Other most recommended GK books for AIIMS 2018 include General Knowledge Today and CSR magazines.
  • Begin with procuring the precise syllabus, study material and exam details. This forms the basis of your studies over the next two years.
  • Being a class XI student, you have the opportunity to streamline your preparations quite efficiently. Focus on the concepts right from the start and prepare notes simultaneously that will come handy during revisions.
  • Utilize the time to understand the concepts through NCERTs. Prepare flashcards for formulae and equations for Physics and Chemistry while make diagrams and flowcharts to understand Biology concepts. These methods help you immensely while memorizing lengthy concepts.
  • Once through with the concept, devote time for practice and problem solving. Practice as many sample papers as possible within the specified time to measure your knowledge and pace.
  • It is helpful to enrol in a competent coaching institute to strengthen you preparations. If you are preparing from home, solve questions on online learning portals. They provide mocks that will be extremely helpful in studying for AIIMS 2018.
  • If you stumble upon a doubt related to any of the topics make sure to get it answered. Take help from teachers, mentors or fellow students. Engage in constructive discussion with a community of peers and seniors.
  • Keep yourself in good health, stay positive during your preparation, and do not give in to anxiety and stress!

Hope this helps!!!

Hii,

Some strategies that you should inherit to boost your performance

1. Make you own time table ,other than that of coaching - Shorter and achievable small targets

2. Focus on limited books - NCERT + Some reference book)

3. Solve MCQS daily in a time limit - Understand where you are doing most mistakes, Correct it, retry

4. Understand all options of previous year MCQS ...As EXACT question is not repeated BUT related questions are....

5. Have patience and be positive

6. POSITIVE SURROUDING - Discuss with friends who can help you stay positive not the one who brings negativity

7. Maintain your health

8. Practice Reasoning and assertion types questions

9. General knowledge / current affairs also carries weightage..

Above points will definitely help you

In order to score good marks in AIIMS it is very important that you should prepare according to the syllabus. Don't waste your time preparing for the topics and chapters which are irrelevant.

To score good marks in you exam it is very important that your concepts are clear. You can take help of NCERT book sfor that. Exercises which are given in the NCERT books are also important to solve.

Start practice ASSERTION-REASONING questions as they are important to solve.

You should solve previous year papers to get the idea about the exam patter and level of questions.

Don't solve the questions which are of very advanced level. Questions asked in the exam generally are application based.

You should also solve complete mock test series for your practice.

All the best for your preparation and the exam!!
