How to start prepration for gate exam

the type of preparation needed ,depends on you.if you're in your second or third year of your engineering/academic then you won't need any separate preparation.you should listen and observe the daily subjects carefully (subjects which are included in gate syllabus).spend one or two hours daily for solving previous year questions.try to understand each and every subjects as concept-wise.then in your final year,you should spend time only for revising and giving mock tests.

if you're in final year of your graduation or after graduation,then you should get the syllabus for upcoming year's GATE.then put a schedule on it,stick to it.that's it.

sticking to the plan/schedule only matters here,i used to say this to the students.because you'll definitely distracted to the environment.so try to avoid those things.please use below given links to get more information and resources.

if you're gonna give prepare after long time gap (in your academics),then you can go for coaching classes.it may help you to do pick up the concepts fastly.usually i wont suggest  to take coaching since i believe in self study/preparation.

One year before the actual gate exam can be the best time to start preparing for GATE.Gate requires atleast 7-8 months full focused study.

You can start preparation by

1.Find the syllabus of the stream in which you want to appear.

2.Find the correct source of study.

3.Decide whether you want coaching or not? If you are not joining coaching then you can buy some pendrive material from a coaching institute.This will be helpful

4.And start with an easy subject and go on .Finish the syllabus of all the subject.

Since GATE comprises of atleast 9-10 subjects and that is why it is very important to revise everything time to time so that you don't forget previously studied subjects.

This is very important to learn the concepts very well because questions may not be repeated .So you will to make a strong grip over the concepts and practice numericals as much as possible.
