Do not focus on important topics or easy topics just prepare for all the topics and don't skip any.A very important thing is Solve previous year question papers and mock tests which will help you to understand the pattern and type of the questions and time management of paper solving.

Get some good reference books for IIT JAM that helps covering the all syllabus, solved papers and sample papers.All this will help you to crack the exam.
