To find stability in organic chemistry, we need to check for the following points
- the element with more no. of covalent bonds is more stable
- the atoms with octet of electrons are stable
- less separation of opposite charges and
- more dispersal of charge
More the number of alkyl groups, the greater will be the dispersal of charge and so the carbocation wil be more stable.
So the order of stability is: CH 3 + < 1 o < 2 o < 3 o
