Hello aspirant,

Slaves in Roman society was included prisoners of war or bought outside Roman territory. The slaves and their families were treated like the property to their owners who could control them however they want like sell them or rent them. The life of a slave was very harsh as they were abused and cruelly mistreated. The slaves would often get killed too by the owner and did not get punished for killing them. Some of the slaves working in agriculture fields were housed in barrack buildings which was more like prisoned and were chained too.
