Hi Aarya,
Economically Weaker Section ( EWS ) in India is a subcategory of people belonging to the Economy Based Un-Reserved Category having an annual family income less than 8 lakh (US$11,000) and who do not belong to any category such as SC/ST/OBC across India, nor to MBC (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reservation_policy_in_Tamil_Nadu) in Tamil Nadu. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economically_Weaker_Section#cite_note-1) (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economically_Weaker_Section#cite_note-2) A candidate who does not fall under SC/ST/OBC and fulfils the EWS economic criteria are to be part of the EWS category.
You should also reach out to your state government portal for further detailed information about the eligibility of EWS category.
In NEET when you fill the application form they have a particular column for different categories SC/ST/OBC/EWS. If you belong to any of the categories you can simply tick the box option and you will have to submit the category certificate.
I hope you do research and if you are eligible do apply for the certificate asap so that you won't have to face a problem in future and you will be able to benefit from the same.
Hope this answer helps you.
