As per the current reservation system earlier total 49.5% seats are reserved which comprises of 27% seats for OBC 15% seats for SC and 7.5% seats for ST category students now as per the new reservation policy out of remaining 50.5% and reserved seats there will be 10% reservation for economically backward general category students that means it will be around 20% reservation of unreserved seats.reservation will affect all the categories that is general SC ST OBC because as this reservation was made from the states which were open to all thereforenow this 10% seats will be exclusively reserved for the economic other backward general category students on which other category students cannot get.

There is a mixed reactions in our the new reservation policy because many people are claiming that more than 95% general people belong to the economically backward category that is most family income is less than 8 lacs per annum those who don't own a home more than 1000 square feet or more and does not have a farm land more than 5 acres.if you apply this 3 criterias then most of the people from general category will fall within this criteria therefore the reservation for 90% of the population is only 10% seats there for many people are thinking that this will not benefit them at all but the point is that this seats are cut down from the open category to exclusively general category students which will not out benefit them in anyway.

earlier there were 50% seats which were open to all category but right now only 40% seats will be available therefore there is also disappointment from the other category students because from now onwards the number of seats in the OBC category SC category and ST category are not reduced but Alia devil able to fight for those 50% seats also but now they were reduced to 40% therefore somehow their seats will be affected now the plus point for general is that not exclusively 10% seats are reserved for them on which only general category students can apply therefore which is in contrast to the previous policy they are there was not at all any percentage of reservation to general category but in the current policy there will be 10% States which are exclusively reserved for the economically backward general category students so they will get 10% seats for sure and now remaining 40% they can fight for on the basis of merit and if they may able to manage they will get admission into that 40% it's also there for this policy will definitely help general category students who are belonging to economically backward.

The new policy has been brought in hoping that those general category people who are economically privilege they use their wealth to take other benefits and using that benefits the grape seeds therefore somehow the privileged economically privileged population are forcing other backward economically people to compete there for economically weaker section of the general category are not able to compete with the well there peoples there for this new policy will definitely bring the economic stability and equality among the society.

Previously 50 % seats for education and jobs we're reserved for SC,  ST,  OBC etc.

Only 50% seats were available for general category now with the new rule the general category quota has dropped down to 40%

So according to the new law 60% are reserved and only 40 % seats remain for general category.
