Thanks for asking.
This is my third year at NIT-A with EE and I would have loved to say that this is one of the best college when it comes to Electrical engineering but sadly it ain't so. However the Electrical Engineering department sure is one of the best thing at NIT-A.
Faculties are an amazing combination of experience and fresh talent, laboratories are well equipped and the department conducts regular workshops and seminars on the recent trends in the industry. There are of course a couple classes which aren't very good but that is much less in number than the classes that are better than just good. However, owing to the vast course and the syllabus taught here-the EE students have to slog a bit more than the students of other departments. That means more subjects, more amount of working hours and some pretty cool labs that demand your full attention. But , I guess if you are genuinely interested in the subject than this place has a lot to offer to you.
Coming to placements, a majority of the students get placed in Infosys/IBM and other mass recruiting companis that visit the college. Students are also absorbed in companies like ABB, Johnson Controls, Havells, Vedanta, L&T and others, but the number of students getting into core is not much. That apart PSU's visit the college and they usually select the top rankers.
I guess, that is pretty much about it.
In case you're planning to join EE at NIT-A, you're most welcome here

I'm from NIT-A (ECE) and I think I can answer the question.
The branch EE here is pretty good with good facilities, instruments, laboratories, faculties, classrooms, and of course the placements.
The class: EE classes/labs are conducted in the big new ECE building. The labs are stuffed with new, sophisticated gadgets, the building is fully under wifi coverage. The faculties are very helpful, they will explain you with any doubt any time during or after class, though some are very strict but they too are good when you are sincere enough to impress them. I won't say that the facilities and the faculties are as good as in MNIT, MN-NIT, VNIT etc but they are average.
The placement: The placement scenario is average too. Though from the last few years PSUs have started visiting the college, the placements of all the branches too are getting better and so in the branch EE.
Overall: More than Average
I hope you understand
Thank you
