Hydride of lithium is covalent or ionic
Answer (1)
Hello there!
Greetings!
Hydride of lithium i.e. Lithium hydrude(LiH) is not a covalent compound. It is an ionic compound. It has high hydrogen content and it has good thermal and radiation stability as well. Lithium is a metal so during ionic bonding, lithium loses an electron to form Li+ ion and that electron is acquired by Hydrogen to form the H- ion , so LiH is an ionic compound.
Thankyou
