Hello,
The future of biotechnology in India is good. But, to be honest, the biotechnology industry is still an emerging one in India. Students (and parents) are not completely aware of the subject fields and career prospects. Biotechnology is an extremely research-oriented field. Moreover, the career growth is slow, and not too FINANCIALLY REWARDING in the first 3 - 5 years. Last but not the least, a Masters (or even PhD) degree is essential. However, if you are passionate about science and research work, biotechnology provides several career scopes. The biotechnology domain (or segment) is the most prominent one in terms of revenue and employment. Not only jobs in the public and private sector, there are enough opportunities for entrepreneurship as well. But any how the job opportunities are comparitively very less with low package.
Hope this helps....
