Hii charan,

Textbooks are one of the main important source for us to learn new things. They give us knowledge which is theoritical. We will excel in that subject only if we can convert that theoritical knowledge into practical knowledge. We should apply and thereby we will be able to understand clearly.

Similarly We cannot learn the computer just by studying in a Text Book.you should practice regularly on a personal computer. So practice either in your school or near by netcafe whatever you have studied in the textbook. If it feels difficult for you There are so many institutes in and around us to teach computer knowledge.

Always try to learn new things and do better

Hello aspirant

Yes  Schools text book provides only the basics in which a normal student can understand very easily .

Here is some contents which you studied in school days

  • What is computer

  • Hardware and software

  • Types of hardware components

  • Main parts of computers

  • Software components

  • Information network

Uses of computer.... Etc

Those are the basics that you studied but  after your 12 th gradation you should be little advance in computer basics.

Please learn c first .no need to take classes for it if your access to a computer .you can easily learn your self .let us c is a good book for teaches you quickly.

Then you move to college ,you'll have some thing hang on c already, start reading the book by Dennis Ritchie on c. It's the best book out there .you will have to leave the old book as its only for good basics.

Good luck

Dear Guru, what you learn from Text books is theory and what you need to have a grip on the subject is practise. For that mere text books wont help. If your Institution has a Computer Science lab, please ask the incharge if he/she can teach you. Most faculty will be willing to because they like students who put in hardwork. Ideally this is the best way to learn. Or else if you have a Computer at home, you can follow the text books bit to bit and practise on your own from the start. Watch videos on Youtube or self learning eebsites which will help you learn from the scratch. Eitherways, practising is the only way you can excel in this subject.
