I am 24, I am currently working. I want to become a judge. Can I do LLB through distance learning to become a judge. And is practicing as a lawyer necessary for becoming a judge?
hey there
hope you are doing well
No, Bar Council of India (Which regulates lawyers profession)does not recognize any distance education degree for LLB. Therefore, even if you managed to obtain one, you will not be able to practice in court with that degree.
there is no need to practice law for lawyers in India to become a Judge.it is not necessary to have a experience certificate for a judge. Only the judges need to pass the judiciary exam.
Dear student,
You can study LLB course in distance mode, which would be of 3 years duration and entrance exam accepted are CLAT, SLAT, etc. After that you can do LLM course in specialization you desire, which is of 2 years duration. After completion of course you need to start your practice and after few years of practice you can become judge and posting depends on the set of rules given by the Court.
