Yes, candidates from Arts background can also give CDS exam after graduation but there are certain restrictions. To be part of Indian Air force you compulsory need to have physics and mathematics in 10 + 2 level and for entry into Indian Navy one must have done Engineering in graduation from a recognised University or College. Now comes the candidate who have done neither they can only be eligible for Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA). Also in addition to this female candidates would be only considered for officers training academy. In addition to this candidate must meet required age criteria and only class 10 and 12 certificate would be considered valid document for date of birth verification.

Yes, a candidate who have passed Bachelor's Degree from a recognised board is eligible to appear for Combined Defence Service (CDS) Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). However, candidates passing Bachelor's Degree in any field are eligible to opt for Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy. To opt for Airforce Academy a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics and 3 year Bachelor's Degree or 4 Year B.E/B.Tech from a recognised board. Candidates who wish to opt for Indian Naval Academy must have passed B.E/B.Tech from a recognised board. If you are male candidate you can apply for Indian military academy and Officers Training Academy (men). If you are a female candidate you are eligible only to apply for Officers Training Academy (Women) as you belong to Arts stream.
