Hi Gowtham

Can you please help us with your state of domicile so that we can help you in a better way as cut off marks for medical colleges vary from state to state under state quota.

It's quite difficult to predict the marks required for you to get a seat in government medical college as cut off marks for medical colleges keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.

But as per previous year trends you should try to get at least around 550 marks to be on the safer side in your neet 2020 .

Thankyou

Gowtham, you haven't mentioned the State you belong to. This is important because each State has a different cut off for each Category. If your goal is only GMC, you can appear for 15% All India Counselling and 85% State Counselling for your home State. You will have to score nothing less than 550 for a seat in GMC. But if you belong to any of the States like Delhi, UP, Bihar, etc, you wull need atleast 575 and above. This is because cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam.

The important topics are Mechanics, ElectroDynamics, Modern Physics, Heat and Thermodynamics, Optics, Simple Harmonic Motion, Waves. Formulae form an integral part of your preparation. Memorise as many formulae as you can and write them down and stick them as post its so that you can always see them. Practise regularly and try various kinds of questions. Solving previous papers and mock tests to test your improvement. Keep a clock and check the time its taking you to solve these questions. And improve the time as you practise more.
