No you don't have to renew your certificate..
Gap certificate is not required to write NEET but during admission certain states require to produce a Gap certificate while certain states don't...A Gap certificate is a self declaration given on a non judicial stamp paper that states the period and reason of the interval taken clearly.Further , if a student wasn't able to complete his/her course in a given time and therefore has dropped out, he/ she will be required to submit a gap affidavit/ certificate.

Gap years don't matter when it comes to neet examination, also you don't need to update your character certificate dear. You will not face any problem during neet counselling, you should not worry at all .
While reporting to the allotted college afteryour neet counselling , you will have to submit the original copy of the required documents which are listed below-

- NEET Scorecard or Rank Letter
- Class 10 certificate and mark sheet (for date of birth)
- Class 12 certificate and mark sheet
- ID proof (Aadhar/PAN Card/Driving License/Passport)
- Eight passport size photographs
- Provisional Allotment Letter
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- PwD Certificate (if applicable).

but some says that I need to have gap certificate specially when it comes to get in VMMC.
