i am a it branch 1st year student and i want to prepare for gate examination from now how should i prepare for it.

In order to start your preparation you should be aware of the exam pattern and syllabus of the exam. You can refer previous year papers to understand the exam pattern and level of questions. You should focus on important topics, solve as much as MCQs for your practice. You can make your study plan and follow it. You should work on your concepts. Give proper time for revision.

You can definitely prepare for GATE exam from now on, if you wish to but you will not be eligible to appear for the exam now.



GATE exam is on the complete understanding and studying of the undergraduate syllabus. As you are in your 1st year, I would advice you to focus on the syllabus being taught in your institution and make your concepts clearer with every passing year. This will make your foundation stronger and when eventually you will start preparing for GATE, may be in your third or fourth (depends on you), you will be in a better position to take up the exam.
