I am a maths-bio student and have passed the cbse board exams this year. I have high interest in technology and even get fascinated , when someone talks about those things .But the problem is that, I have no knowledge in coding, though I know computer basics (medium level). So what should i do now ?

I think you have PCMB and you want to go for Engineering and as you know that engineering needs programming stuffs so you are worried about it as you don't know coding. See the practical answer is that every year a lot of students takes admission in engineering who didn't have computer science in there 10+2 or ever have written a code by themselves. So you have nothing to worry about. The courses are so designed that you can coup up with the coding languages even if you have no elementary understanding. Always remember that in coding Mathematics is an important factor. So its recommended that you study well for engineering entrances and learn mathematics well. This is the thing which you should prioritize now. As you take admission in the courses, you will learn coding and your lack of knowledge will not hamper your studies in any way. So don't worry and keep on studying.

Hi Aspirant,

It is so amazing to know that you have such a keen interest in technology. Since you have mentioned coding I assume you are talking about Computer Science. There is not at all any problem if you don't know coding. The only thing that matters here is that you want to pursue something in Technology or Computer Science related field. You can start from now only to master anything. Just look on internet for what you like the most like for example Android fascinates you , then look out for some online courses, study those for few days and practice it through different platforms provided online. If some automation fascinates you try getting into Python coding and Artificial Intelligence. other than these there are a lot more that you can study through internet. Now observe yourself and see out of whatever you studied what interests you the most. Then make a choice and maybe you can pursue your undergraduate course in that field only.

Now talking about coding. There are lots of tutorials that can teach you basics of programming(coding) in whatever language you want. And you can master that through practices. There are a lots of platforms where you can do so like Codechef, Hackerank, Leetcode, etc.

Hope this guides you.

All the best!!!
