Hello,

Both CLAT and AILET are highly competitive law exams, the former scores are used by many reputed universities(government/private) and in case of latter it's for NLU, Delhi, There is also considerable difference in both the exams as stated below:

CLAT is conducted for two hours with sections such as English Language/Legal Reasoning/Logical Reasoning/Current Affairs, including General Knowledge/Quantitative Techniques while AILET is for one and half hours only with sections such as English/Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude/General Knowledge/ Basic Mathematics

In order to start your preparation you need to be well acquainted with the exam pattern, and syllabus and choose the appropriate study materials as follows-

CLAT General Knowledge and Current Affairs/AILET General Knowledge

you can go through  reading newspaper on a daily basis for covering the dynamic portion, you can choose The Hindu or The Indian Express, else go through monthly magazines like pratiyogita darpan, For static GK part, you can use Lucent's GK. Also, you can search in Internet there are many sites which have compiled this in an organized manner pertaining to different subjects.

CLAT Legal Reasoning/AILET Legal Aptitude

you can use Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning by A P Bhardwaj or Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning by Pearson.

CLAT Quantitative Techniques /AILET Basic Mathematics

Refer NCERTs book for building the fundamentals, you can go through Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Exams by RS Aggarwal.

English Language for CLAT/AILET

You can use Wren and Martin for grammar, and Norman Lewis's Word Power Made Easy to build vocabulary, also reading editorials section of The Hindu and The Indian Express will help you immediately to grasp the comprehension part along with enriching your vocabulary.

Logical Reasoning for CLAT/AILET

You can use any reasoning book such as Analytical Reasoning by M K Pandey or even Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Agarwal to cover this section, at first  try to get your concepts clear and then practice in a consistent manner.

After choosing the appropriate study materials, assign required number of hours to each subject, go through previous year paper or sample paper to practice and build time management skills along with efficiency, apply mock tests of a regular basis to evaluate your preparation level.
