UPSEE conducted by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Uttar Pradesh for admission to first year Engineering courses was was scrapped off and from the academic year 2021-22 the admission will be based on JEE Main. If you wish to get admission in Engineering course in colleges situated in Uttar Pradesh then you need to appear for JEE Main. Apart from JEE Main there are other state level and University level entrance examinations for admission to Engineering in different parts of the country. For taking admission in b.tech in recognized government college you have give jee mains as these government colleges check the jee mains score.
But if you want to taken admission in private college than you are eligible to take admission without any jee mains and uptu exam .

First of all UP state engineering entrance exam has been cancelled and now admission is through jee main and it is completely Ok even if you don't appearing in jee main as there are many entrance examination other than JEE main through which you can get admission in BTech

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions i. e TNEA :- admission is on the the basis of your marks obtained in the qualifying exam i.e. 10+2.

Rajasthan Engineering Admission Process i.e REAP :- your admission is through 12th marks and jee main also . 2 seperate merit list are prepared i. e for JEE Main and for admission on class 12th marks basis

Madhya Pradesh B.E. Admission :- Counselling is conducted separately for those applying through JEE Main and those applying on the basis of 12th marks

B.Tech admission at Sastra University:- For stream 1 , counselling is conducted on the basis of jee main and your normalized 12th score. While for stream 2, counselling is conducted completely on the basis of your 12th marks.
