I am a UPSC aspirant and I am in 12th now I have three options :- 1).BALLB. 2). B.pharma. 3). Chemical engineering. what should I choose ?
Hello,
To become an IAS officer there is no single course that you have to do. You need to have completed you graduation. So Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a reputed university. After this you need to qualify the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam. The exam itself is structured into three parts – the Preliminary (Civil Services Aptitude Test – CSAT), Main Exam, and finally the Interview.
So you can choose any of the three course based upon what interests you. If you like all three courses then I would suggest that you take the course BALLB to gain an upper hand as you will be familiar with the laws.
So first complete your graduation and in the meantime read more about the eligibilty criteria like the number of attempts, age limit, etc.
I have shared a link with you below where you can read about the eligibility criteria: https://competition.careers360.com/articles/upsc-ias-eligibility-criteria#IAS-Eligibility-Criteria-2021--Educational-Qualification
Inculcate the habit of reading the daily newspaper and keep yourself aware of latest happenings in the country and the world.
Work on your interpersonal skills and communication skills. Your personality is tested during the interview.
Good Luck
