Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a national-level fellowship programme which is provided to the students to pursue research career in the field of basic sciences (UG or integrated programmes).This KVPY exam is conducted by the Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc), Bangalore every year.
The KVPY exam involves three streams namely:
SA: for the students,who are pursuing Science and are currently in Class 11th
SX: for the students,who are pursuing Science and currently in Class 12th
SB: for the students pursuing a programme in Basic Science and currently in the first year of graduation.
KVPY Stream SB for UG (Undergraduate):
•Students should be in the 1st year of UG programme in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to BSc/BS/BStat/BMath/Integrated MSc/Integrated MS
• Candidate should have obtained a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in Class 12 Board Examination
•In the first year of BSc/BS/BMath/BStat/Integrated MSc/Integrated MS, students should have obtained 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks prior to taking the fellowship, if awarded.
