I am also confused between passing certificate and marksheet of class 10th (CBSE) ?
Hii,
CBSE do not provide any passing certificate separately for class 10th.
However Marksheet of class 10th act as passing certificate .
But in 12th class there is separate passing certificate apart from your marksheet.
And both are different also as ,
On passing certificate, only qualifying status is provided.
However, on mark sheet, complete subject-wise marks will be mentioned.

Dear Candidate,
For the class 12th the CBSE board issues two kind of certificates. The one certificate is Passing Certificate while the another one is Marksheet. The marksheet mainly consists all of your subjects and their respective marks. Whereas, the passing certificate consists only the name of subjects and thereby declaring that you have passed your respective class. But for the 10th class, CBSE only issues the Marksheet, and the result is also mentioned in that.
