Hello Shivashish,

As you have mentioned that you are persueing B.tech from ECE branch, so i will sugget you that you have to decide that what you have to do from the two options as i can only tell you the profit that you can achieve from both the ends.

As let go through the first option that what if you does change your stream, as your coding is strong that what you are saying then you know that IT firm companies even recruit their employees from branches other than CS or IT, and they also provide them jobs with high packages.as you are also persueing B.tech from ECE then you may have a chance that you may get the recruited earlier than others as becuse you acquire some more skills than others of CS and IT branch.

But as if you are thinking of Higher Studies, so i suggest you to change your stream to CSE so that you cannot get any problems regarding your higher studies or you should go for higher studies easily.

Now it is upto you to decide whether you will change your stream or not according to the criteria you want.

Hope you find it relevent!

Feel free to ask any further doubts.

I just want to know that i have interest and skill in coding so i want to study coding more and lets say i get better in coding and passed all my exams in ECE.I just want to be sure that i won't have any weaknesses in placement and future as i will and ECE engg. but i may have better skills in CS dept.I want to go to CSE but its not easy.As i got my college which is a private college by rank and i think when i will go to CSE and i am guessing that i will be put in management quota and its fee will also be double of that of my ECE as prices have been raised and its management as well. Can i get good job and future in coding department while being an ECE student. Is it worth all the issues the I'll go into while changing my branch ? My coding and all CSE related subs will be in my softcore. How can i get ahead of CSE students in placements while being in ECE ?

As you have mentioned earlier that your coding is strong so you need not have to worry about jobs.you will definetly get jobs in CS or IT firms easily. as you mentioned in your comment that if you were in CS department then you have better skills, then i must tell you this, that why companies of CS or IT firm recruit student from other branches. And if you want to get ahead of CSE students while being in ECE then you should start studying more abuout coding in your free time to make you more skillfull. As i would like to suggest you to go through NPTEL lecture and also go through the exams they conduct. In that way you can easily maintain a balance between your branch and for your coding. And after doing all this i am not getting a reason that why you can't get ahead of youe CSE branch rivalries.Hope you find it more relevent. Please feel free to ask.

Hello friend

You can change your branch of engineering in 1 st year. If you are interested in other field then you have to score  good aggregate of percentage that is above 75 above in both 1 and 2 year. After 2 nd semester paper you can apply for branch change. You can simply fill a form given by college administration.
