It is an admission procedure not an exam.

TNEA 2018  Anna University will conduct TNEA 2018 counselling for admission to UG engineering programmes at participating universities tentatively in last week of June. Admission to engineering programmes will be based on marks obtained by candidates in PCM in the qualifying examination. No separate entrance exam will be held. To account for variations in difficulty level of different state boards to that of the State Board of Tamil Nadu, the marks obtained by other state candidates will be normalized. Additionally, the total marks will be reduced to 200 (from 300) for preparing the merit list. Candidates who meet the cutoff of TNEA 2018 will be called for counselling round. Counselling of TNEA will be single window process. Candidates must fill the application form correctly and pay the applicable counselling fee  to be able to partipate in counselling. Allotment of seats during counselling of TNEA 2018 will be done separately for different categories; in all there are seven categories, including SC and ST categories. The application form of TNEA 2018 has to be filled online and will be available tentatively in the first week of May, 2018. The tentative last date to complete the online application of TNEA is the last week of May 2018. Go through the rest of the article to read in detail the admission process of TNEA 2018.
