I am appearing in class 12th this year and i want to clear cse with a very good rank to become ias. My question is that whether i have to go for iit or not. if not the which stream i choose in graduation.
Hi
You need to first have clarity in career choice. Doing CSE and being an IAS are two opposite choices which have no similarities. If you have interest in both then list out advantages and diasvantages of choosing a career which you wont e using in future.
In either cases ,if you want to be an ias then choose a course that will help you and make it easier for you while preparing for upsc.
Couses like
- Economics hons
- Political science hons
- Sociology hons
These courses will help you in preparing beforhand for UPSC
If you want to do computer engineering then prepare for mains and advance right now. You may not know where you interest might divert in coming future.
But I wouldnt suggest you to go into engineering if at the end you want to give service to the nation.
Hope this helps
All the best
Hello,
You have to clear UPSC examination to get into the civil services. There is no such requirement to pursue engineering from IIT or anywhere else. Its up to you whether you want to do it or not. But it is beneficial to have a graduation degree as a back up before taking up the UPSC examination.
Hope this helps,
All the Best.
Hello Rohit,
First of all, all the best for your Civil Service Examination. It is good to hear that you have decided what you want to do in your life. At the same time, if you want then you can definitely go for IIT. To apply for this course, you will have to answer an all India entrance test called JEE Mains and score really high to increase your chances to get into IIT Institutions across India. Also, IIT has a great scope these days.
Good luck!
