Hey!
To become an IAS Officer you need to be graduate from any recognized university, then you need it qualify UPSC exam (3 rounds)
Now coming to your question most of the aspirants prefer humanities degree courses over any other courses due to the fact that it help them a lot during the preparations. You can do B.A, B.A Political science, B.A History etc.
Choose the option which satisfies you best. Anyways, you can also choose any other stream in which you are interested such as CSE, IT, ECE etc.
Thank you
There is no subject specification to be eligible for UPSC. You need to be a Bachelor's degree holder in any stream. But because mostly the subjects you take in your Bachelor's degree are based on what you have studied in your 12th, please do help us with that information and we shall help you with relevant courses.
Meanwhile UPSC is a 3 stage selection process involving Prelims, Mains and Interview which tests your personality test. Prelims has 2 Papers namely General Studies and CSAT.
General Studies has Current Events, History of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change and General Science.
CSAT has Comprehension, Interpersonal skills including communication skills, Logical Reasoning and Analytical ability, Decision making and problem solving, General Mental Ability, Basic numeracy and Data Interpretation.
But based on previous years analysis, Candidates who have taken Arts, Humanities, History are the ones who made it to the finals and secured jobs.
