I am currently doing my BA in Economics and I want to become an IPS officer would it be possible with my subject?

Hi

Yes, you can become an IPS officer,
Actually to become IPS officer you need to qualify UPSC examination, now to be eligible for UPSC examination there is no compulsion to be a graduate in a particular subject , all you need to be eligible is that you should be a graduate in any discipline ,
So now that you are doing BA economics you are eligible for UPSC examination and thus you can be an IPS officer after qualifying it.

You can check UPSC eligibility criteria provided below -

  • You need to be a graduate in any discipline and
  • You need to be at least 21 years old.
  • Maximum age limit is 32 years old
