Hello.
To become an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer in India, you need to crack the Union public service commission (UPSC) examination held every year. It is a very competitive exam and almost 3 lakh candidates appear every year. You need to work hard in order to get a high rank. The exam is conducted in three stages: 1) Preliminary Examination 2) Main Examination 3) Final Interview. You have to clear the preliminary exam first.
Eligibility: To be eligible for writing UPSC, the candidate must have a degree from an Indian University or an equivalent qualification. Those in the final year of a degree course can also appear in the Preliminary Examination conducted every year.
Age Limit: A candidate should be between the ages of 21 years- 32 years on 1st August.
