The recruitment process of Indian Navy
There are two types of Position in Indian Navy. One is Sailor and the other one is Officer. There are few entrance examinations through which you can get a job in the Indian Navy. Such as, NDA (UPSC) I, NDA (UPSC) II, Combined Defence Service Exam - I - CDSE (UPSC), Combined Defence Service Exam - II - CDSE (UPSC), 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry, Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), Artificer Apprentice (AA), SSR Entry. The main exam of Indian Navy Officer Recruitment is INET Entry. The selection procedure is computer based written examination followed by SSB and bachelors degree in engineering with 60% aggregate in all semesters. Besides these, the candidates must have physics and mathematics during their higher secondary examination. The age limit is 16 to 24. This is only for the male candidates. There are two papers in this Examination. One paper consisting of Mathematics and the another paper consisting with General Awareness and English. A Fitness Test is also conducted by the authority at the next round every year. It is a permanent job.
As you are going to complete polytechnic diploma in Mining Engineering, the process will be different from others. You must have passed 10th or 12th or any diploma with minimum 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Your age should be 16.5 to 19 years and it is obvious that you should be physically fit. Diploma Polytechnic students can join Merchant Navy only if the student have Mechanical or Electrical and it's sub branches. A diploma Engineer can join course which will finally lead to BE or BS Marine Engineering. After that the Engineer can join vessel as TME.
