greetings,

It all depends upon what you want to accomplish by pursuing an extra course. is it for career augmentation? is it for hobby? or both?

Le me try to break it down from my perspective;

- If you want to do some professional course alongside your BBA that will eventually get you a job later on as you graduate then you may go for CMA (cost and management accountant) which is a stripped down version of CA. The reason I put CMA ahead than CA is simple, CMA takes less time (3 years without backs) while CA takes more time (5 years). CMA is comparatively easier and much more time flexible than CA which is rigid, hard and unpredictable.

Doing CMA will get you a direct job opportunity after graduation.

- Now, the CMA, CA options are very time consuming and are related to one single field (commerce). if you wish to follow some hobby courses then you can do things like:

  • do a foreign language certification (preferably one of the official languages of the U, as they are highly in demand, like French, mandarin, etc.)
  • Start a western or Indian classical course in music theory. typically they both take 7-8 years to finish but in 3 years you will definitely finish at least 3 grades of music theory exams and will have their certificates also, it is a life long hobby.
  • Complete a certificate course in programming languages (Python, java, C++, etc.) it will be fun, confidence boosting and will also be valuable as an experience as well as a certificate in you possession.
  • Complete a certificate course on digital art, graphic design, Painting, etc.

The hobby stuff I mentioned above will not directly get you a job but will accomplish these things:

- Give you a good resume/CV

- Give you valuable life lessons

- Give you a dynamic personality and improved knowledge of a new area

- Help improve your chances if you want to apply for higher studies (MBA, or abroad through GRE, etc.) top schools always appreciate a student's co-curricular and extra curricular achievements while interviewing them or assessing their CVs.

Whatever you do, make sure it is of your interest otherwise it won't last.

if you query remains misunderstood or unanswered then do leave a comment and I'll help the best I can.

good luck

Hi Anshul!

Bachelor of Business Administration is a demanding course in India where many students opt for this course. There are various other small time courses which you can do while studying BBA so that it will add volume to your knowledge and resume. Below are some of such Courses:

  • Correspondence Course in Import and Export - 1 Year.
  • CA, CS, ICWA, CFP, CFA, etc.

After BBA, for Post Graduation, you can also do:

  • PG in IIFT, Delhi.
  • PGDIB Course.
  • MBA.
  • Human Resource, Marketing, Finance, etc,.
  • International Economics / International Relations.

Hope this is helpful!

All the best!
