You are to complete the prelims part first. Try to cover those areas first which are common in both Prelims and Mains.
Now one important thing is when you are preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, NCERT books play a crucial role in your preparation. In hypothetical language, these books are the backbone of your preparation
It is nice to hear that you have inclination towards civil services. See for an engineering student it is often more challenging as someone who is not used to Geology, Civics and History has to go through these subject and have agood knowledge of these. Your General knowledge should be up to date, So make a habit to read Newspapers daily. Some students opt for coaching by the 3rd of there graduation period to dedicatedly prepare for it. Lastly you need to prepare yourself for the interview round which is more important of all.
Good Luck !!
