EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
All candidates must have as a minimum one of the following educational qualifications:
A degree from a Central, State or a Deemed university.
A degree received through correspondence or distance education.
A degree from an open university.
A qualification recognized by the Government of India as being equivalent to one of the above.
So you can go with your choice there are no such boundaries.Make sure you prepare well for CSE exam well.
Even though the exam to be undertaken is popularly known as IAS exam, it is officially called UPSC CSE. The UPSC CSE consists of 3 stages – Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Getting into Indian Administrative Service is not easy considering the competition involved, but not impossible for a candidate with right attitude and approach.
Below is the syllabus of paper 1
Current events of national and international importance.
History of India and Indian National Movement.
Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.
General Science.
Syllabus for paper 2
Comprehension.
Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
Decision-making and problem-solving.
General mental ability.
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level).
