Dear aspirant!

It is very very important that you have a good knowledge of all the important computer science subjects as only then a software company will hire you. Subjects like data structures and algorithms, computer organization and architecture all play a major role.

Also the base of IT is coding.

Just knowing basic coding will just not be enough.

C, C#, Java, Ruby, Python all need to be in good command.

Dear aspirant,as per your current situation, if you are really passionate about working as  software engineer then you must develop a habit of coding. I prefer you to learn at least 2 programming languages from the scratch to the finish. Best would be to watch online tutorial and gain these skills.

As we all are very clearly aware of that like iits nits are not that flexible for the students of different branch to pursue additional course . But still most of the students made it passible just get focused on what you have to do.

So lets start to get placed in software companies you hve to  first have a deep knowledge on coding languages learn C , C# and then to get advanced learning you can even go for python and ruby language .

The most important part is learning data structure and algorithms as it is the toughest part of the computer science branch.

If you have no specific interest in any subject, mass recruiters like tcs, ibm and infosys are the companies for you. (3 - 3.5 lpa)

If you have prepared for CAT and Analytics tests, target companies like Affine Analytics, ZS associates, Mu Sigma and a few other analytics companies. ( 4 - 6 lpa)

If you are really good at mechanical, you have a slight chance of cracking core mechanical companies like honda, 3dplm, thermax, etc ( I say slight chance because most of the time IDians are not allowed to sit for mecha companies because their curriculum is incomplete for mechanical profile) ( 4 - 7 lpa)
