In order to join the indian airforce, the candidate must have passed class 12 with the physics and mathematics and one has to appear for the NDA exam conducted by the UPSC. There are also the various posts to join and that is based on the academic performance and you will be allotted the posts as per the qualification. Refer the link given below to know more about the airforce joining and the eligibility criteria.

Hello Akhil,
Yes, you have a great edge over other graduate students as you did engineering and the demand for engineering in ARMED FORCES are high. If you have spectacles then sorry but you cannot opt for FLYING BRANCH but you can opt for other technician posts. To get into airforce you must write 2 exams and thise are:
-
AFCAT
- CDS
I also belong from armed force background and i am telling you there is no other jobs in this world which can provide you these many opportunities which armed forces provides with the sence of pride and uniform.
I hope you will find my answer helpful.
All the best.

You are eligible for indian airforce as well as other forces like army and navy. The best part is that you can directly opt for interview that is SSB. Engineers can apply through SSC-TECH.
Talking about the basic entry which is AFCAT. You will have to write AFCAT as well as EKT for entering technical domain. There are three basic branches in IAF
1. flying
2. technical
3. ground duty.
You are eligbile for all three if you meet the medical criterias and you have 60 % marks individually in physics and maths in 12th for flying branch
