i am expecting 42 marks in gate 2019 mechanical engineering..is there any chance of getting admission into nits .

See u are from the core stream and the most crowdiest branch in the engineering discipline. So the marks u have got is enough to get u through the qualifying marks.
Since the paper was easy so the cut off marks may fluctuate high but as per the previous years assumption u might not get the good colleges for pursuing ur higher studies.
As the cut off for the good colleges such as IITs and NITs are around 65 so u might get deprived of that.
