Marks are based on you rank and not just on your marks and if you ask me what is the difference between them so I must tell you that ranks are subjected to change as they depends upon various factors like number of applicants fill the form, number of applicants finally appeared in the exam, number of questions asked in the exam, difficulty level of the exam, performance of the candidate, previous year's cut offs trends availability of seats in the institution so first of all you need to find out your rank and our mhcet rank predictor helps you in that as the rank predictor say you'll get a rank between 140000 to 144000 so the chances of getting mechanical with this rank are rough as in 2015 the closing rank for mech. was around 127000 but we can't be absolutely sure until this years cut offs are out so wait for the cut offs but i would suggest you prepare for a backup side by side I am giving you the link of rank predictors and cut offs of previous years.
