The Category you select will be final. If the correction window allows you to make corrections to the Category after filling the application form, might be that can be changed. Apart from that once the application process is closed, what you have entered there, remains the same so let's say if you do not get a seat in merit, you will not be considered under General Category for whatsoever reason. You will be still considered under OBC Category only.
