I am from Bihar and have few doubts regarding documents required in admission process. Is domicile and residential proof the same thing? Is it necessary to have both or either one of them will do ?
Hello aspirant,
No. Domicile and residence is totally different from each other and are not same at all.
Residence is where you live for a certain period and is temporary in nature. Suppose, you lived in the X city for a few years for work or study, so that becomes your residential address, hence that is mentioned in the residential certificate so as to show the officials that you lived in the X city for few years for work or study.
Domicile is where you want to make your home permanently, the place you want to return if you've lived somewhere in another city or state temporarily. In domicile certificate, it mentions your permanent address that won't get changed.
Yes, sometimes it's necessary while document verification during admission and counselling process. So, it is advised to have both of them in hand if in case it is asked by the officials in order to get verified.
Hope, this answer helps you.
