i am from Karnataka i have questions that is any course available for bhms student so that he can practice allopathic medicine in Karnataka legally
Hey...
Nope. It's not legal to practise allopathy without having a degree in allopathy field. MD in homeopathic medicines is allowed after BHMS, not in allopathic which is exclusively for allopathic graduates (MBBS). So, it's illegal to practise allopathic after having the degree for homeopathic.
But there are some changes in this rule.
Doctors pursuing Indian systems of medicine, including ayurveda, and homeopathy may be allowed to practice allopathy after clearing a bridge course, according to a bill introduced in the Lok Sabha.Dec 31, 2017
So, if you want to practise allopathy but you are a bhms student then you have to clear a bridge course in order to practise allopathy legally.
Hope it helps you!
As you want to do any bridge course to perform allopathy , you have to join the course one-year certificate course in modern pharmacology which would be taught at 24 government medical colleges in Maharashtra under MUHS. But in your case you have mentioned Karnataka. So, there is no facility of any bridge course in Karnataka.
Homoeopathy, ayurveda and unani practitioners have come together to support the proposed National Medical Council (NMC) Bill, which provides for a bridge course that would allow them to legally practise modern medicine i.e Allopathy. So, you may join this course in other states which are offering it in order to practise allopathy legally.
Hope it will be helpful !
