In order to take admission in Government College in BTech in UP, you need to give Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) or JEE Main.

You need to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board. You must have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English subjects and must score minimum 45 percent marks.

After Entrance Exam, you need to appear for counselling and register in counselling website. Then candidates will be allotted the seats and they have to report the allotted college.

BTech admission process is completely based on the merit of candidates in JEE Main exam. Students with a valid JEE Main score can get admission into UP engineering colleges. However, the students will have to take part in a centralised/ online counselling process for B. Tech courses.
