hey Hema
83.40 percentile is not enough to get admitted in the NIT because with this percentile you will get rank approx. more than 1.4 lakhs( nearly 15-20 percent students score more than you).
But you have a chance to improve your percentile in april exam.So try to study hard and do well.
Otherwise you have options like state government or other private colleges.
So Good Luck
well, it's very difficult as of now,to predict the cutoff for NITs or any other college based on percentile. You can first calculate your rank by rank=(100-percentile)*874469.With this rank, you can compare previous year's cutoff for different colleges and can predict some of the colleges you may be getting.I don't think you will get any NIT with this percentile but remember this is not the final rank.It will change based on the april session of mains.Hence, try to improve your score in it.Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
Based on your percentile of jee mains, your chances are quite low of getting admission in NITs or IIITs.But you can definitely get admission in top private engineering colleges through state counselling like SILICON,GALGOTIAS,CV RAMAN,etc.
Good luck.
