I am getting 40 marks in GATE 2019 in computer science. I belong to SC category. Is there any chance of PSU or IIT?
Hello Matthew
40 marks in GATE is well and good considering SC category. But getting into PSU's will be tough as your rank will lie outside 500 and most of the PSU's cutoff's are generally less than 500.
Coming to IIT's then yes you can get some of the top IIT's as well as newly established IIt's. There are different streams in which you can take like:
Computer Graphics, Vision and Multimedia
Computer Networks and Distributed Systems
Algorithms and Complexity
Formal Methods in Software
Embedded Systems and Architecture
Software Systems
You can get IIT roorkee or IIT Guwahati. If luch favour's then you can also get KGP
Since till now the final result has not been declared by the Gate Authorities (IIT Madras) , which is going to be declare on the 16th of March but since via answer key you are predicting a score of the 40 marks in the GATE - 2019 and you are from the SC Category then yaah definitely you have the better chances to take the admission in the IIT premises based upon the cuttoff of the CSE. And regarding the PUS yaah you have fair enough chances to get that which might get vary depending upon the variation in cuttoff.
All the best
Hello Matthew,
Acoording to your marks and category, there is a low chance of you getting any PSUs. Though you might have a chance in Powergrid and NLC.
As for admission to M.Tech programs of IITs, you should be able to get almost all the IITs with the marks that you have scored.
