Dear student,

As my engineering branch is chemical engineering then I think that I am fit for giving the answer to your question.

Chemical engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with chemical production and the manufacture of products through chemical processes. This includes designing equipment, systems and processes for refining raw materials and for mixing, compounding and processing chemicals to make valuable products.

Chemical engineering is one of the most demanding and trending branch in India, and nowadays even more demanding than cse or mechanical engineering.

There is a huge and big job scopes of chemical engineering in India as well as in abroad countries.
In India some of the major companies that recruit chemical engineers are :-
BARC, BHEL, SAIL, IOCL, ONGC, CIL, GAIL, HPCL, etc. along with other 21 psus, which you can only get by cracking gate exam.
There is a common misconception that if you are a chemical engineer or doing chemical engineering then you have to always play with chemicals, do the reactions, etc. Many people think that there is risk in becoming a chemical engineer because all the time we have to deal with poisonous, and very dangerous chemicals, which is completely wrong.

The chemical engineers get many great and good jobs in petroleum sectors, oil refining sectors, etc. and your job is to just supervise, make equations and new process with help of computer.
The industrial manpower work will be done by sub part branch (chemical technology) candidates.
Also you will be having a great opportunity to work in an abroad industries. And for that you must have industrial knowledge. And this is only possible when you have studied your subject (or the core branch) chemical engineering.

In chemical engineering, we have to study about the techniques of designing instruments and we have to design equations so that the process runs smoothly. The chemical engineers find a way to increase the maximum output of the production by giving equation and process.

If you are a chemical engineer, then your brain will be used, your technical knowledge will be used not your manpower.
And also remember : you don't have to deal with chemicals all the time.

And there is a very great job scope and also with a very handsome pay scale.
Those who think that after doing chemical engineering the job scope is less then they are completely wrong. There is a huge and big job opportunities waiting for you if you pursue chemical engineering.

And ICT mumbai is famous specially for chemical engineering, so, getting a degree from ict mumbai is very good. And you can definitely pursue chemical engineering from this institute. So, according to me if you are getting ICT Mumbai then don't leave this opportunity and pursue your dream branch.
