Tips To Crack IIT JEE:
Experts advise that you should be calm and composed as the day approaches. At the same time, adopting a few hacks that could tilt the pendulum in your favor would really help you. Let’s take a look at some tried and tested tips to crack IIT JEE:
Concentrate On The Formulae, Theorems, And Reactions:
When it comes JEE, it is easy to be confused with these aspects of the syllabus, which is why studying them at least a couple of times in the end can help you remember better. You can come up with your own ways to memorize them such as co-relating them with names or coming up with patterns that are easy to remember.
Concentrate On The Topics That You Have Studied:
Once you go through the entire syllabus, it is common to go back and unearth topics that you haven’t studied (well). Experts say that doing so will cause you to panic because, obviously, you left those topics out because you found them difficult. The panic will make you lose focus and forget what you already studied well. You seriously don’t need this headache in the last minute!
Make Enough Time To Revise:
A lot boils down to revision. You spent months together covering the entire syllabus and now, you must have enough time to go through everything you studied. Trust us, you cannot do that in a day or two. Depending on your personal preferences and your speed, you are advised to ensure that you have at least a few days in the bank just to revise. Again, remember that this time is only for you to revise what you already studied and not to start a new topic that you didn’t touch.
Solve A Few Mock Test Papers or Previous Year Question Papers:
Doing this will give you confidence. If you have studied well, you will be able to do well in these tests and that will make you feel better. Also, make sure you always set the timer so that you know how quick you are.
Do Not Let The Doubts Breed:
You have your professor, seniors, and mentors to turn to when you find the need. If a doubt troubles you, make sure you have it cleared. That doubt could make or break your chances! Why risk it, then? Clear it up and practice related questions so that you don’t forget.
Eat Healthy:
Do not neglect your health in these final moments. Falling sick now could ruin your future plans.
Sleep early and sleep well:
Go to bed before 11:00 PM especially on the day of the exam and wake up early. Adequate sleep is paramount for proper functioning of the brain.
Calm Your Nerves:
Panic and stress can blank you out. Don’t let them get to you. You have studied well through the months. You just have to take the final step now. Stay calm while you do so. Meditate, exercise, and eat well to keep calm.
Reach The Exam Hall Early:
There’s nothing worse than running late on the day of your exam. Start early and reach at least half an hour. Staying composed is very important and these little things matter.
Hello Muhammad Rafay Siddiqui. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.
Note that JEE provides only two attempts for writing Mains and Advanced, both of which have to be written in the same year.
It's not like you write Mains this year and then prepare for some two or three years and then give Advanced. No. Both need to be written in the same year.
The two attempts are basically - one in the year of graduating class 12 and the second attempt can even given a year after that.
So, as you haven't applied for Mains 2018, you are left with one and on one chance to fulfill your IIT dream - to write next year.
Hope this helps you and all the best!
Hello Rafay
See as you are giving your 12th examination in 2018, you will now be able to give JEE Mains in 2019 and 2020.
For JEE Advanced, you will have only one attempt i.e. in 2019.
Hope this helps.
Hey Rafay,
It doesn't matter whether you appear for JEE mains this year or not,You will lose one chance to appear in JEE mains.
So,now you have only 2 attemps left for JEE Mains(one in 2019 and other in 2020)
and one attempt for JEE Advanced(i 2019).
Good Luck
Hello,
According to the eligibility criteria for JEE Mains 2018, the candidates passed 12th class or qualifying exam in 2016 or 2017 and candidates appearing in class 12th or qualifying exams in 2018 is also eligible. And the candidates can appear for 3 attempts only. Since you are not appearing for JEE in 2018, you will get a chance to apply for 2019 since you will be passed out of 2018 and in 2020 also.
So, according to me, you will get 2 attempts only. But it will be applicable only if the eligibility criteria remains same for next two year.

All the best!!
If you will skip this year's JEE, you can apply for JEE next year as well. But further that, you can't give any attempt to JEE examination.
