I think you get that wrong.
The exam which you will give January and April is considered as one attempt.
In Jan and April 2020 will be your second attempt.
This is the second chance in same year for the improvement and to give experience to the students so that they can build up themselves in next chance in same year ( so they can save their one year).
And the Highest marks of January and April exam will be considered for the final result ( rank) on which basis the admission procedure will be conducted.
But it is only for JEE mains for JEE advanced you will get only one chance in a year which is held after April exam.
But there are eligibility criteria for the admission through josaa( JEE ) i.e.
Minimum 75% marks in 12 th for general and obc and minimum 65%marks for ST/SC.
and the year of passing 12 class is same year ; previous or previous from previous year .
But why to look for next year chance you should study hard and with full dedication you have still nearly 3 months remaining with you.
So good luck.
From this year onwards JEE main will be conducted twice a year and as per the rules of JEE main you can appear for 3 years beginning from the year in which year in class 12th therefore the combined attempt January as well as April attempt will be considered as your first attempt because these two are not separate exams these two are the same because the best out of two will be considered for rank calculation therefore your first attempt will be in the year 2019 your second attempt will be there in the year 2020 and your third attempt will be in the year 2021 therefore I think you have misunderstood some there the one session exam is not a attempt the combine two exams is considered as in one attempt.
