Hello,
To become an IAS officer there is no single course that you have to do. You need to have completed you graduation. So Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a reputed university. After this you need to qualify the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam. The exam itself is structured into three parts – the Preliminary (Civil Services Aptitude Test – CSAT), Main Exam, and finally the Interview.
As a personal opinion I think it would be better to do BA than B.Tech since BA can be done in various subjects like social science, history, etc which will give you an upper hand.
Even if you do B.Tech there is no problem since Engineering is offered as optional subject also.
So first complete your graduation and in the meantime read more about the eligibilty criteria like the number of attempts, age limit, etc.
I have shared a link with you below where you can read about the eligibility criteria: https://competition.careers360.com/articles/upsc-ias-eligibility-criteria#IAS-Eligibility-Criteria-2021--Educational-Qualification
