I am in 11th standard. When should I give SAT and how should I prepare for it?
Hello Iram Khan!
Given the college application timeline, you should try to take your first SAT exam in Sept-Oct of eleventh class. This way, if you are not happy with the score and want a better score, you can retake SAT in April-May or after your eleventh final exams. If you get a good score in the first attempt, it means your twelfth class will be completely free for the college application process.
There are two ways students prepare for SAT: Self-Study and Coaching Classes. Both options have unique benefits and they are equally good with quantifiable benefits.
Since SAT structure has completely changed and is now known as the Redesigned SAT or the New SAT, you will have to purchase books meant for the new structure.
Hope this will help you!
All the best for your future!
Thanks :)
Hi Iram,
You can give SAT at any stage before getting into college. I have seen people appearing for SAT since 9th grade till they keep getting higher scores. But, you should approach your SAT in a prepared way, so that you can score your best in your first try.
The SAT tests your basic aptitude and english skills. You have to be good at reasoning and basic mathematics. You won't be asked questions of higher background but you should have decent IQ and good vocabulary to score higher than average. You can refer to any of the books you find in libraries or online related to SAT because all of them have similar interface. In the end, clear your fundamentals and work on your english skills to achieve your highest potential. You can give the exam whenever you feel prepared and any number of times before getting into any college.
All the best.
