To get admission in IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) across India for engineering a student must clear JEE Mains and acquire high rank in JEE Advance.
Now JEE Mains consists of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Each subject will have 30 questions. In total there will be 90 questions.
If a student gives correct answer for a question then 4 marks for that question are awarded. If a student gives wrong answer then 1 mark is deducted. If question is not attempted then no marks are deducted or awarded .
JEE Advance also consists of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The JEE Advance paper pattern changes every year.
A student is eligible to give JEE Advance if and only if he/she clears JEE Mains. If JEE Mains is not cleared then the student cannot give JEE Advance.
To prepare for this entrance exam lot of concentration is required. NCERT textbooks of 11th and 12th standard of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry must be studied. Also the problems from the textbook must be solved.
Books such as Concepts of Physics by HC Verma Volume 1 and 2, Problems in General Physics by IE Irodov, Concise Inorganic Chemistry by JD Lee, Chemical Calculations by RC Mukherjee , Mathematics RD Sharma, co-ordinate geometry by SL Lonely are very helpful books for this entrance exam. There are other books to which can be studied for this entrance exam.
A student must know the concepts, formulas. Practicing Multiple Choice Questions everyday helps a lot. Equal attention to every subject must be given as they are all equally important.
